What you’ll be learning and doing:
- Approach potential donors and maintain donor lists
- Make any necessary travel arrangements for collection of donations
- Keep the fundraising database and donors register up to date
- Assist in identifying underprivileged communities and coordinate donations for them
- Carry out marketing and public relations activities to raise the profile of the organization’s services and campaigns
- Create and organize fundraising initiatives and events
- Carry out administrative tasks, such as, managing budgets, gathering data, preparing reports, database management and clerical work to meet the charity &needs.
- Dealing with enquiries by telephone, email and post, and maintaining filing systems (both electronic and hard copy)
- Look for opportunities to develop and streamline existing systems
- Prepare reports for the management on monthly operations
- Record all income promptly and accurately on the system
- Liaise with the CEO regarding the events of the day and future activities and follow up resultant actions
- Be responsible for the smooth running of the charity projects

What you’ll need:
- A degree, HND or foundation degree preferably in business studies, community development, economics or marketing is an definite advantage
- Demonstrated voluntary experience of 2-3 years will be an added advantage
- Ability to liaise with people on all social and economic levels
- Well-developed language skills in oral and written in English and Sinhala
- Time management, problem – solving and organization skills
- Excellent public relations, leadership and interpersonal skills
- IT skills with proficiency in MS Office Applications
- Residing within 10 Km radius would be ideal
