Assistant Engineer - DTV Master Control Room

The Job

• Handling overall network operations such as channel monitoring, faults identification and informing to the relevant parties about the channel downtime (Call centers, TAC, BU – Television services), troubleshooting the fault and rectification for an uninterrupted service for the Dialog Television subscribers.
• Provide technical support for activation of DTV packages and channels and provide solutions for technical issues escalated by TAC and Provisioning operations team (on request)
• Provide technical support for activation of DTV packages and channels (on request)
• Channel routing/channel blocking for special events to insert the advertisements, crawlers or slides to gain revenue through the advertisements or through telecasting special events
• Play out server chain rectification on failure for an uninterrupted service for the Dialog TV subscribers.
• Attending the new ad-insertion server installation, cable laying, satellite dish aligning or Installation of new MCR equipment.
• Preventive and corrective maintenances such as monitoring receiving stations in remote site, checking the receiving condition of the micro wave links, replacing faulty IRDs, IQ cards, connectors, cables, LNBs, and rectifying the issues related to satellite dish failures or terrestrial antenna failures.
• Informing faults of IVG, Encoders, and other transmission equipment to rectify them
• Informing & getting advice for STB error messages, SIM card failures and other technical problems related to customer premises equipment to support the TAC or provisioning operations teams to resolve the complaints related to the Dialog TV subscribers
• Informing about channel down time, scheduled maintenance activities on DTV services to aware them for their information and to easily handle the customer complaints
• Prepare the documents like Daily channel monitoring report, C band channel receiving report, High Power
• Amplifier test points report, channel routings report for MCR internal reference.
• Submit the documents like Downlink signal level monitoring report, channel faults report for DTV engineering internal reference.
• Downtime analysis report is created to review by the Head of DTV engineering and DTV BU.

The Person

• Three Years B.Eng. (Electronics & Telecommunication / Electrical / Mechanical / Civil/Computer) or Three Years BSc degree in required field ( Physical Science/ IT). University Degree should be accredited by relevant body of the relevant country
• Or City & Guilds Advanced Diploma/ NV Q Level -5 / IVQ Level -5 / HNDE/ NDT/ NDES/ Diploma in Technology (OUSL)/ Advance Diploma in Telecommunication Technology Advance Diploma in Information & Communication Technology/Advance Diploma in Information Technology / Advance Diploma in Communication Technology/ National Diploma in Engineering Technology etc with Two Years of experience in the required Field (Telecommunication / Electronics / Electrical/ Mechanical /Civil Trade etc.)
